How Does it Work?

 Sultra:

This gentle, fractional non-ablative treatment uses the 1570nm laser to target water in the skin. The process enhances collagen production, promoting improved skin elasticity, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and an overall smoother and more youthful complexion without damaging the surface. It's suitable for all skin types. Sultra is an excellent thermal collagen stimulation treatment.

CoolPeel:

This award-winning, no-downtime fractional ablative laser treatment leverages the CO2 laser's high-peak power to gently remove the epidermis, resurfacing irregularities and stimulating collagen production in the dermis for a smoother, healthier skin. CoolPeel effectively addresses fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and age spots, large pores, and textural concerns with a fraction of the downtime associated with traditional CO2 lasers.

Fusion:

This combines both CoolPeel’s fractional ablative and Sultra’s non-ablative energies in various sequences or alternating modes within a single session to vaporize and coagulate tissues fast. This versatility allows for customized treatment plans targeting deeper concerns while promoting surface-level improvements.

What Does It Treat?

There are 3 different settings we can use on the Helix device. The CoolPeel targets superficial wrinkles, texture, fine lines and pigment. The Advanced CO2 settings target deeper wrinkles, acne scars and etched-in lines where lateral heat is desired for better correction. The Fusion can be used for concerns such as wrinkles, laxity, scarring and dyschromia or photodamaged skin

Recovery

What is the downtime associated with a helix treatment?

The downtime for the Deka Helix laser treatment depends on the specific treatment option used:

CoolPeel (ablative):

This boasts minimal downtime compared to traditional CO2 lasers. You might experience some redness, swelling, and possibly some mild flaking for up to 24 hours. Most patients can resume normal activities the next day with minimal social downtime.

Sultra (non-ablative):

Since it doesn't remove the top layer of skin, Sultra has practically no downtime. You might experience some temporary flushing or redness that fades. There may be some swelling associated with the procedure.

Fusion (combined):

Downtime for Fusion treatments will depend on the specific combination and settings used. Healing for this treatment is similar to the Sciton Halo treatments. It can range from minimal redness for a day (similar to Sultra) to up to a week of redness and swelling (similar to CoolPeel) depending on the intensity settings used.
